Julie bought Bank Vale Mill in 2014 ,turning the office building into a home and along with her husband ,Simon she went about bringing the mill back to life .

The Thread mill started with craft classes ,which she now runs on a Mon and Friday morning and then progressed into running classes,charity events and other other events .

During the pandemic they turned part of the upper floor into workspaces for rent, bringing together local artists and now run "Bank Vale Artisans" ,a collective of artisan workers all under one roof .

Part of the upper floor also has an American themed diner for exhibition use and a space suitable for rental for events and exhibitions .
